Diagnosis Using Radiology

 Ultrasound

Ultra sound, or sonography, is a simple, safe and painless procedure. Ultrasound images, are produced  by bouncing high frequency sound waves off different parts of the body to form an image.

Ultrasound is also used to take a closer look at tumors and cysts, as ultrasound can provide information that conventional x-ray cannot. In most ultrasound examinations, a hand-held transducer is placed on the patient's skin, displaying a two-dimensional image on a video screen.

Ultrasound can also be used to capture a range of moving images, while images of blood moving through veins and arteries can be captured using ultrasound enhanced with a special Doppler technique.
