Diagnosis Using Radiology

 Nuclear Medicine

Each nuclear medicine investigation test follows a different format. In most cases a small intravenous injection of the radio isotope is given and then images are taken after the isotope has circulated the system.

The images are produced between 20 minutes and 4 hours later.

Nuclear medicine is used in cases where the imaging technique to be used is one that requires the detection of radio isotopes within the body, for example Gamma Cameras.
