Mr Kalavrezos' early surgical training was completed at the
Craniomaxillofacial Surgery Department at the University Hospital of
Zurich. His thesis from that time on the management of craniofacial
trauma is still cited in benchmark
papers for the treatment of frontal sinus fractures.
four-year residential programme, he moved to the UK to complete his training, the emphasis being on head and neck oncology and
microvascular surgery. Further experience was gained in several UK centres
including Liverpool, Mount Vernon, St Bartholomew’s
and the Royal London Hospital.
early 2002 he was appointed Consultant Maxillofacial Surgeon at
University College London Hospitals with a sub-specialty interest in
oral and head & neck oncology and microvascular reconstruction.
